You can watch the original in its entirety on youtube and I heartily recommend that you do watch it because there are great performances, but especially from Bernadette Peters as The Witch. Also, the story is really smart.

When people mention Into The Woods, I instantly bring up Peters performance. She’s easily the most riveting part of the whole musical. I get a near fanatical gleam in my eyes as I try to persuade people that this is so. Even then, I cannot quite convey just how much I love Bernadette Peters as The Rapping Witch. Sorry Meryl.
